Calculation Overview

Calculations on the MCAT are tricky. Just knowing equations and units isn’t enough if you want a top score. So we are going to learn how to break down calculation problems so you aren’t just plugging and chugging, but actually understand what is going on and how to modify your approach based on the set up.

This is a multi-skill technique so today we will cover the equation and units components of the technique and finish the strategy tomorrow when you learn how to tackle proportionality questions. This is ultimately a learning technique, so I’ll show you how to bridge the gap between how you practice and how you approach calculations on test day because if you try and use the strategy I teach you in its entirety you are going to waste a lot of time on test day.
